Vineyard
The winery and vineyards, established by Juana de Haza in the 12th century, has an area of 10,000m2, production and bottling capacity of 18 million bottles a year, and capacity of 10,000 American oak Bordeaux barrels. Modern whilst maintaining its character and historic constructions, this winery was awarded best winery in Spain for 2 years running.
Winemaking
This wine is aged in new French oak barrels for 425 days, during which 3 decantings are performed to help oxygenate the wine. After this period, the wine remains in the bottle for another 12 months to complete the ageing period.
Tasting Notes:
In the nose, this wine suggests fruity aromas, with hints of wild fruit, a vanilla base, and sweet notes. Mature on the palate, full of nuances with a pitch of intensity, it has a rich finish with ripe tannins and an elegant and long aftertaste.
Pairings
This wine pairs perfectly with beef, small game, and cheese. We recommend uncorking or decanting for a while prior to tasting, to fully appreciate its virtues.
We recommend serving between 16–18°C.
